Today, nearly 1,200 of the most influential people in healthcare will convene in Orlando, Fla., for the Express Scripts Outcomes Symposium – two and a half days of learning about the future of healthcare and discussing strategies for addressing some of the most pressing issues facing patients and payers.

This group represents the companies and organizations that purchase pharmacy and other health benefits for 100 million Americans. They face a seemingly insurmountable challenge to continue providing robust pharmacy and healthcare benefits while also reining in rising costs. They are a diverse group united by a common goal: How do we improve access, quality, cost-effectiveness and equity in healthcare?

Healthier Outcomes Begin With Better Decisions

Experts and industry thought leaders such as Daniel Gilbert of Harvard and Bob Nease of Express Scripts will address the problem of information overload and how we can help people learn to make better decisions. Steve Miller, MD, will give us a glimpse into the future, providing an overview of the drug pipeline and how to prepare for it. With Sharon Frazee, we’ll discuss the role of research in confronting the challenges that lie ahead, and Glen Stettin, MD, will share his unique perspective as a physician and medical adviser to identify ways to make patient care safer and more effective.

We encourage you to follow and join these conversations here on our Healthcare Insights blog and on Twitter (#Outcomes). I’m looking forward to an exciting couple of days.
