VIDEO: Fulfilling a Promise, Note by Note

Sep 7, 2017
Garth is battling cancer. Accredo pharmacists and nurses provide specialized care and support so Garth can focus on what’s most important.

What if you were diagnosed with cancer? What if you were diagnosed with cancer four times? What would you do? What would you say?

If you’re Garth, you resolutely decide that, no matter what, your daughter will find a handwritten note inside her lunchbox each day until she graduates from high school.

Garth has been diagnosed with cancer four times, and is now living with metastatic kidney cancer. He isn’t certain how long he has to live, and that’s what motivated him to leave a legacy to his daughter…one note at a time.

When his daughter was in kindergarten, Garth began writing “napkin notes” each day and placed them lovingly in Emma’s lunchbox. Garth is still here and he’s still writing. As an Accredo patient, Garth has a close relationship with the pharmacists and nurses in the Oncology Therapeutic Resource Center®. He is able to get the medication he needs to manage his condition in a timely and efficient manner. With the medication, support and ongoing care provided by Accredo, Garth is able to live a full life, and continues to put napkin notes in Emma’s lunchbox.
